The appointment of consultants to undertake site investigation work, strategy and design development leading to the submission and approval by the local planning authority of a Local Development Order (LDO) for the Dorset Innovation Park, Wool, Dorset which has been awarded enterprise zone status.

The appointment of consultants to undertake site investigation work, strategy and design development leading to the submission and approval by the local planning authority of a Local Development Order (LDO) for the Dorset Innovation Park, Wool, Dorset which has been awarded enterprise zone status. To complete the works required it is anticipated that the consultant team will consist of specialists within the following range of professions:-.

— project management,

— architecture/urban design / master planning,

— town planning,

— engineering — Flood risk/Utility capacity/geo technical/ environmental/ infrastructure/structural/building services,

— ecology,

— landscape architecture.

It is intended that the LDO will have a 25 year life (to coincide with the period of the Enterprise Zone) noting that some of the evidence such as ecological will be subject to the need for a regular update. The LDO will seek to facilitate largely commercial development Class B1,B2, B8 uses but other uses may be applied for including educational, training, falling in Class D1 — Non-residential institutions) etc but not residential or retail uses for off-site users.

The preparation of the LDO will involve close engagement with Dorset County Council as principal landowner as well as other key stakeholders including the Dorset Innovation Park Management Board, the site stakeholders group, the Winfrith (nuclear site) stakeholders group, Natural England, the Environment Agency, utility providers, the local community and the Council in its role as landowner and local planning authority.
