According to the Circular Economy Act, the district of Ludwigsburg is responsible for the collection, collection and disposal of the waste of the approximately 545,000 inhabitants within its administrative boundaries. The provision of waste management services is entrusted to the Abfallverwertungsgesellschaft des Landkreises Ludwigsburg mbH (AVL for short).
AVL's contracts with third parties for the takeover, transport and recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment expire on 31 December 2022. A new award is to take place as part of a Europe-wide procurement procedure on 1 January 2023.
