Demolition and Dismantling, Pollutant Remediation, Disposal/Recycling, Earthworks, 1st Dismantling Stage - Farge Tank Farm
In October 2019, the Federal Office for Infrastructure, Environmental Protection and Services of the Bundeswehr (BaiuDBW), through the Senator for Finance Bremen, commissioned federal construction at Immobilien Bremen to implement the dismantling of the tank farm in Farge.
The tank farm was built between 1935 and 1941 and was considered one of the largest underground tank storage facilities in the world until the end of its operational use in 2013.
The fenced site of the Farge tank farm is located in 28777 Bremen, district Farge, Betonstraße.
The majority of the tank dep site is wooded. To the west, south and east, the tank debit is bordered by settlement areas. Agricultural and forestry areas are connected to the north. The tank depot is located in the Blumenthal water reserve, and on the Bremen part, the entire area is also designated as a protected landscape area.
The tank warehouse is decommissioned at the time of dismantling.
The measure includes, among other things, pollutant remediation work, gutting, earthworks and the dismantling of a large part of solid concrete buildings above and below ground, the dismantling of shafts, hydrants, container systems, lighting systems, footpaths and track systems, as well as the recycling and disposal of demolition masses. Existing underground electricity, water and telecommunications lines are largely exposed and dismantled. Above ground cables are completely dismantled. The cleaned underground fuel lines are filled with a dimmer.
The dismantling takes place in consideration of nature and species conservation, as well as with the specification and supervision of the explosive agent disposal service Bremen.
A total of 4 individual construction phases (lot 1-4) are planned, which start at a different time and are advertised or awarded individually. The present call for tenders covers the 1st construction phase (loading station 2) in the southwestern part of the property. The more detailed requirements result from the annexes included in the award documents.
