The provision of Self-contained Breathing Apparatus, associated equipment and services, including but not limited to:

Purchase or lease of Self-contained Breathing Apparatus, with or without maintenance services,

Purchase or lease of compressed cylinders or re-valving of existing cylinders, with or without maintenance services,

Purchase or lease of related telemetry, with or without maintenance services,

Maintenance services for existing Breathing Apparatus and/or cylinders

Purchase of replacement parts for Breathing Apparatus.

The equipment provided must:

a) supply the wearer with respirable air independent of the external environment;

b) be capable of operating in all fire and rescue environments when used by operational fire-fighters.

It is essential that the equipment provided must be compliant with the UK legislation in force at the time that the equipment enters operational service.

It shall be possible to upgrade the Self-contained Breathing Apparatus and associated equipment during the life of the contract, subject to new wearer requirements and technological innovations. These upgrades will be subject to assessment before acceptance.
