The AssayMaster application is a special development for the Institute of Diabetes Research (IDF), Helmholtz Zentrum München to support and automate laboratory processes. The Institute of Diabetes Research is a scientific research institute with a focus on type 1 diabetes research. AssayMaster is a web-based platform to replace and automate Excel-based processes in the laboratory. Automation is carried out in particular by connecting laboratory equipment via an interface (automatic data import).
Blood or serum samples from various sources are sent to the laboratory with the aim of testing them for one or more antibodies. For the test, several samples are combined in a so-called assay. An assay is always based on a firmly defined scheme. In the context of each assay, so-called standards and control values are also measured. After performing an assay, the results are available in the form of separate data sets. One data set contains the information of the sample used and a second data set contains the actual measurement results. These data sets must be imported into the application, evaluated and stored there.
