The line bundle serves to connect the northwestern district area to the states of the Eifel line in Speicher and to the Moselle line in Salmtal and Wittlich. Connections are established between the local communities and the assigned basic centers (Landscheid, Salmtal and Hetzerath) or middle center (Wittlich) as well as the middle center in the LK Trier-Saarburg Schwich. In addition, the cross-district line 310 offers an alternative route to regional rail transport on the Wittlich – Bitburg route. In addition to regional rail transport, the two medium-sized centres of Wittlich and Schweich will be connected to line 320 in order to compensate for the disadvantages of the peripheral regional rail transport stations and to enable a transfer-free journey to the IRT. The connection of the tourist hotspots on the Moselle (Piesport, Neumagen, Mülheim an der Mosel) on short distances to the Moselle line at the regional rail stations Salmtal and Wittlich is guaranteed with two new lines (321 and 324).
Bus services can be provided on schedule in the period 31.07.2024 – 13.12.2025 with 31 vehicles (2 low-floor minibuses NBn, 5 solo buses Bn, 19 solo buses B, 5 articulated buses GB) and in an average calendar year with rounded 1,377,654 commercial vehicle kilometres p.a. and rounded 40,056 timetable hours p.a.
Bus services can be provided according to the schedule in the period from 14.12.2025 with 40 vehicles (4 low-floor minibuses NBn, 5 solo buses Bn, 26 solo buses B, 5 articulated bus GB) and in an average calendar year with rounded 1,573,276 commercial vehicle kilometres p.a. and rounded 45,479 timetable hours p.a.
A total of 6 vehicles (van) are required for on-call services. In the event that a subcontractor is commissioned, it must be ensured that a total of 6 vehicles can be used for on-call traffic. The estimated occupied kilometers (rounded) are 72,156 Bkm p.a.
