Roof waterproofing work - new building GGS Bensberg
About the new building:
The new building is an open all-day school based on the Montessori concept. At this
the classrooms are arranged according to the "cluster concept". The result is cross-year instruction in all-day care.
In addition to the premises, which are assigned to the primary school, a fresh cooking kitchen is also planned. This also supplies the immediately adjacent and
Part directly adjacent daycare center. The foyer of the school also serves as a meeting place for up to 500 people. The new school building is rounded off by the integrated gymnasium.
The curved three-storey building is essentially planned in solid construction meadow. The basement will be constructed using waterproof concrete construction. The remaining storeys will be built using StB construction and masonry construction. Demarcation of wet areas and installation shafts is primarily carried out using lightweight construction. The outer walls will be fitted with a mineral thermal insulation composite system. The main building is finished with a clinker brick brick façade. The pushed out areas such as clusters, entrance area
and gymnasium will receive a mineral top coat. In addition, there are striking external staircases, which are clad with stainless steel mesh.
Important NOTE:
Directly adjacent to the new building is the existing day care center. The day care center will remain in operation throughout the construction work.
Since the new building will be directly connected to the daycare center (common fire wall), all work must be carried out with
exercise appropriate caution. In the run-up to the construction work, the daycare area and the access road to the daycare center will be separated by a construction fence. In addition, the construction fence is covered with foil. Arrivals and departures for the construction site are to be avoided during the drop-off and pick-up times of the daycare center. These are in particular in the following periods: 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. In addition, during the entire operating hours of the daycare center, access to the daycare center must be unhindered.

Roof waterproofing
When processing welding membranes and other work with an open flame in the vicinity of combustible materials, including waterproofing membranes under roofing,
is to keep a fire extinguisher on standby. All components of the roof waterproofing must be coordinated with each other in accordance with the system. Non-system materials
must not be used. The workflow must be set up in such a way that, in the event of interruption of work, open edges of the waterproofing structure are protected against the ingress of
precipitation, if necessary, they must be masked and freed from the adhesive tapes again when work continues.
Vapour barriers and vapour barriers must be installed in a convection-tight manner. They can't just be fastened with clamps? They must be glued or attached to the
Fastening points with sealing tape. As a rule, sealing tapes are also to be used for fastening to connections and penetrations.
Mounting foam is not considered convection-tight. Damage to vapour barrier layers or to airtight layers is to be avoided if these layers are used for
The contractor's scope of work includes the need to close permanently and in accordance with the material before covering with subsequent components. If these layers are used for the
scope of work of another contractor, it must be clarified with the construction management who is to repair the damage. In both cases, before covering,

insulations

high points of the insulation. The insulation layers must be designed at all connections in such a way that no thermal bridges occur. In the immediate vicinity of roof drains, the

the quantities of glue required by the manufacturer for gluing the panels must not be undercut. As far as available, insulating boards with stepped rebates must be laid, otherwise a double-layer installation with staggered joints should be carried out.
roof drainage
