Grieghallen requires constructional refurbishment, and in connection with this a "Refurbishment of the Grieg Hall" project has been established. The refurbishment project shall secure and further develop the Grieg Hall's local, regional and national role as arena for production, performance and provision of art and culture.

The need for refurbishment is extensive, and divided into two main parts;

a) Renewal of building parts, technical infrastructure and services to the audiences and artists,

b) External and internal renovation of the building

The time frame for completion of the project period is 2012 - 2015.

Preliminary calculations show that the project cost will be in the range of approx. 220 000 000 to 250 000 000 NOK.

Grieghallen AS needs to take out a loan equivalent to the project cost.
