The treatment of critically ill children in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) is to be significantly improved by the introduction of various standardized, evidence-based treatment methods (pABCDEF bundles) in an interprofessional team with the involvement of parents. The introduction of intervention is intended to show that both short-term outcomes in children (length of stay, ventilation time, reduction of delirium, etc.) and their families, as well as the medium- and long-term physical, cognitive, psychological and social outcome (Post Intensive Care Syndrome (PICS)) are improved.
