The Norther Project is a future offshore wind farm that will be realised mainly in the Belgian Exclusive Economic Zone and partially in the territorial waters, about 22 km offshore from Zeebrugge (hereafter: ‘the Project’). The Norther concession area is situated in the Belgian zone for offshore wind farms. The Project is currently under development by Norther NV (hereafter: ‘the Employer’), a special purpose company of which 50 % of the shares are owned by Eneco Wind Belgium NV (a 100 % Eneco company) and 50 % by ELNU NV (a 100 % Elicio company). Eneco Wind Belgium NV and ELNU NV are the Sponsors of the Project.The wind farm has a currently anticipated capacity of 370 MW. Norther NV holds all the project rights (permits, grid connection) and will be the contracting entity for the construction contracts and other project contracts required to build and operate the Project.

The scope of the contract will be the acceptance of an insurance package, covering the risks of the Norther Project during the building period (of approximately two years) and a subsequent period of 3 years for operations. The applicable coverage will apply to a combined insurance for Construction All Riks (including Delay in Start-Up) and Operational All Risks (including Property-, Machinery Damage and Business Interruption). The contract will be split in 2 separate parcels, 1 for the Leading insurer and 1 for the following insurers.
