The renewal of the WB includes the expansion of sections with double lanes, the reconstruction and new construction of stops, the total renewal of the terminus in Waldenburg and the construction of a new workshop. A gauge change to a meter gauge and a new security system are planned for the entire route.

Renewal of the entire track system with 2 new switches at the transition from the 2 track stop to the adjacent 1 track sections. 70 m long retaining wall along the track against the existing bike path.
