In this action the contractor shall support the standardisation and dissemination activities conducted by the European Commission and EUSPA on advanced RAIM in sectors beyond aviation and shall perform safety and cost benefit analyses for the use of ARAIM in those other sectors.
The contractor shall also collect real measurements and validate local effect models. Evolutions of ARAIM shall be developed considering combination with the following technologies and services:
— multi-sensor fusion, a required evolution of GNSS and ARAIM since autonomous transportation in most safety critical sectors rely on local sensors able to mitigate the effects of local errors and signal masking in harsh environment;
— EGNOS current and future versions, which will augment GPS and Galileo in the L1 and L5 bands and will extend the service area;
— Galileo High Accuracy Service (HAS) that will improve positioning performance through the E6-B signal and by terrestrial means.
Next step of advanced RAIM for rail, maritime and UAS sectors.
