The Project ‘Sub-section B, Holmen — Maurnes’ is the first sub-project in the main project ‘Improvement of County Road 82 Sortland-Risøyham’. The section is from the Kvalsaukan Bridge up to the sports facility in the outskirts of Maurnes. The total length of the section is approx. 4,6 km.

The road shall be reinforced and improved to a width of 6,5 m, new foot and cycle paths shall be constructed, and street lights shall be assembled and installed along the entire section.

Some principal quantities:

18 000 m³ rock blasting;

2 880 m closed drainage;

54 subdrains shall be replaced;

34 100 m² Agb16 (road);

14 000 m² Agb16 (foot/cycle paths);

1 800 m railings;

99 street lights.

As a part of the project, cable channels shall be excavated for Vesterålskraft, as well as some Water and Sewage alterations for Sortland municipality.

2 older barns and a garage which are situated too close to the road shall be demolished.

The road section is a way to school and special considerations thereof must be taken during the entire project period.
