KLD needs to protect the upper and very shallow mining tunnels under the listed building in Øvre Storwartz. This involves permanent protection of the rock fall that went in 2018 by Stigerstuggu in Øvre Storwartz.
The assignment consists of two parts. Part 2 is a unilateral option for the contracting authority, which is dependent on budget coverage.
The assignment's two parts consist of:
Part 1: Engineering design services for and price estimation of the protection assignment.
Part 2:
a. Holding a tender contest for the procurement of a contractor for the execution of the engineered protection assignment.
b. Follow-up of the executing contractors during the contractor's execution of the protection assignment.
The estimated value of the contract is NOK 1,000,000 excluding VAT to NOK 2,200,000 excluding VAT. The option will be taken up within two years of the completion of part 1. The estimated value of the contract is not binding on the ministry.

The procurement consists of two parts. Part 1 of the procurement will form the basis for the implementation of part 2. Part 2 is a unilateral option for the contracting authority, which is dependent on budget coverage.
The assignment's two parts consist of:
1. Part 1 consists of engineering design services for and a price estimate of the protection assignment including for the tenderer's assignments under part 2.
2. Part 2 consists of:
a. Holding a tender contest for the procurement of a contractor for the execution of the engineered protection assignment. The implementation of the tender involves:
i. formulation of the tender documentation
ii. notice, implementation, and follow-up of the tender contest
b. Follow-up of the executing contractors during the contractor's execution of the protection assignment.
Both part 1 and part 2 involve fulfilment of builder obligations on behalf of the contracting authority, the role of responsible applicant for the municipality, and responsibility for applying for the necessary permits/dispensations from other involved public authorities, as well as a dialogue with affected and relevant parties The procurement also includes construction management for the project.
In light of the assignment's character and scope, the contracting authority would primarily like one main resource at the tenderer, who also ought to be the project manager for the assignment.
The estimated value of the contract is NOK 1,000,000 excluding VAT to NOK 2,200,000 excluding VAT. The values of the sub-assignments are both estimated to be NOK 500,000 excluding VAT to NOK 1,000,000 excluding VAT per part. The tenderer will be contacted by the ministry regarding the option (part 2) within two years of completion of part 1. The estimated value of the contract is not binding on the ministry.
The total duration for the assignment, including the option, is 6 to 9 months over two seasons.
It is assumed that part 1 will be carried out in 2022, and the estimate is that the work can be completed in 1 tot 3 months.
For the option (part 2), the estimate is that the notice and tender contest for the protection assignment will take 2 to 3 months, and the construction management, and follow-up of the builder obligations for the actual protection assignment will take 1 to 3 months.
The estimate of the value and scope have been made according to the contracting authority's best judgement.
The contract will be signed in accordance with the attached contract document with requirements specification, NS 8401, and NS 8403, as well as building form 8440 A and B.
