The federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, represented by the district government of Cologne, is obliged to adequately secure the data entrusted to it or generated by itself and to keep it available for recovery in an emergency.

The primary data backup in the district government of Cologne is currently carried out on a hard disk-based SATA storage. This must be replaced in the current year.

Due to restructuring in the backup concept, 3 storage systems are required, each of which must be equipped with a sufficiently large storage supply of at least 2 petabytes net.

3 identical disk-based storages are advertised.

The systems must each have a capacity of at least 2 petabytes net, realized by SATA / SAS hard disks. The systems must be modularly expandable. Within the storage, redundancy and protection against hard disk failure must be ensured.

To increase reliability, the system must be multipath-capable.

The system must have at least 2* 32GB 8-port Fibre Channel ports on redundant controllers. Furthermore, two ISCSI connections fiber optics, at least 10GBit each, must be available via redundant network controllers. In addition, a 1GB RJ-45 network connection must be available for management.

Fans and power supplies must also be designed redundantly.

The system must be set up, installed and integrated into the infrastructure on site. The equipment must be documented and the systems must be handed over to the client ready for operation.

The contractor must offer a support and maintenance contract for 48 months for the components offered. A warranty period of 48 months is also expected.
