The district office of Pankow is planning the construction of a new temporary school site on the site of the Werneuchener Wiese. The location serves as a so-called turntable school with up to about 800 students. This means that during the renovation work at other schools, the respective school community uses this hub as a replacement over a period of 2 to 3 years according to occupancy planning.
The future schoolyard design must comply with the general building regulations and technical standards. These specifications and requirements are not replaced by the BSO building standards.

The two buildings are accessed via the central schoolyard. By choosing the surface coverings, a minimization of the discharge coefficient is provided, taking into account accessibility. The paving is laid in a bedding of crushing sand-grit mixture. Path and square surfaces have a minimum slip resistance of R11.
In the peripheral areas, bicycle parking spaces with leaning brackets are produced in several places. There are 4 car parking spaces for people with reduced mobility.
On the two insides of the school building, terraces with contiguous table-bench combinations are created.
A total of 23 trees will be planted on the property in accordance with the requirements of the above-mentioned intervention and compensation report.
The planned planting areas structure the terrain and are planted as care-intensive, flat plantings with robust, site-appropriate woody, perennial and grass species.
The planting areas will be maintained for a further three years after the growth success has been achieved (end of completion care) as a requirement of the standards for the construction of new schools in 2019 (development maintenance).
Meadow areas are provided as a surrounding "green frame" of the school site (flower/herb lawn.) The gymnastics meadow is designed as a hard-wearing utility lawn, play lawn.
For the adequate lighting of the property and the adjacent school paths, pole luminaires were planned, for which a lighting calculation has been made. The lighting of the entrances and areas close to the building is reinforced from the building via façade luminaires (building construction / TGA). The outdoor sports areas are not illuminated.
The lighting of access routes, squares and green areas will be limited to the necessary extent.
Drainage planning is carried out in accordance with DIN 1986-100.
The resulting rainwater is seeped directly onto the property. The drainage concept provides for the infiltration of rainwater from sealed surfaces (roof surfaces of the buildings) via a rigolen system, which has already been installed in the course of the preparatory work. The downpipes of the roof drainage are connected to collection pipes, which supply the water to the rigolen system for infiltration via a sedimentation system. The drainage points of the outdoor facilities (drains, gutters, etc.) are also connected to the collection pipes. The rainwater accumulating on the surrounding meadows is not connected, but seeps away or evaporates on the spot.
