The London Borough of Hackney is seeking qualified providers to deliver a programme that offers healthy activities and food education for children eligible for free school meals during school holidays.
Holiday Activities and Food Programme Framework. The London Borough of Hackney is inviting quotes from sufficiently experienced and qualified providers to deliver Holiday Activities and Food Programme (HAF) providing healthy activities and food education during school holidays.
The Holiday Activity Programme is a national programme for free school meals qualifying children rolled out via local authorities. The aim of the programme is for participants to eat healthily, have a greater knowledge of health and nutrition, be active and complete physical and creative activities during the school holiday period. The programme is also an opportunity for participants to socialise and engage with other schools and local services. Opportunities for parents/carers to learn about nutrition and receive advice on the support available, alongside food hampers for attendees to take home will also be provided. This procurement will create a framework of providers providing healthy activities and food education during school holiday starting in Easter 2025. The initial framework is for 1 year with the option to extend for a further three years. Please note that at the time of tender issue HAF funding has not been confirmed. contracts will only be confirmed following confirmation of funding for the programme.
