Framework agreement for the procurement of network components, software products (systems) and related services for network maintenance as well as for network expansion as well as for the replacement of defective assemblies and systems.

The subject of this call for proposals are:

- Delivery of products from the manufacturer Cisco Systems

- Hardware and software service for products manufactured by Cisco Systems

- Network-related services for products of the manufacturer Cisco Systems

Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk intends to conclude a "framework agreement for the supply, hardware and software service and network-related services of and for products of the manufacturer CISCO" as lead buyer for CISCO-using ARD broadcasters as well as ZDF, joint institutions of ARD (GSEAs), subsidiaries, as listed in Section I.1.

Within the framework of the participation competition, it is avoided to publish maintenance-relevant existing technology and thus to disclose IT security-critical infrastructures of the entire ARD/ZDF. In this context, the candidate accepts the confidentiality agreement as an annex to the request to participate. After reviewing all applications received, all suitable applicants will receive the complete service description including the existing technology and thus the basis for submitting an offer.

Produktsetzung:

The state broadcasters participating in the procedure and the joint institutions of the ARD have extensive networks with products from the manufacturer Cisco Systems. Due to the technical complexity, operational reliability and efficient operation are ensured by a largely homogeneous manufacturer solution. A product setting results from:

- limited exchange possibilities due to existing investment cycles

- Different service partners in a heterogeneous manufacturer environment with differentiation difficulties due to different systems

- Limited support/solution options for intermittent problems through products from different manufacturers

- ambiguous responsibilities with several service partners/manufacturers

- Interchangeability from existing systems in the event of failure of individual systems/components with simultaneous warranty protection
