Creation of an integrated mobility concept
The city of Friedrichsdorf intends to create an integrated mobility concept in the sense of a sustainable, urban mobility plan (SUMP).
In a preliminary study, a framework sketch for the mobility concept to be put out to tender was drawn up. For this purpose, a consideration of the spatial situation as well as the evaluation of existing data, plans and concepts in Friedrichsdorf were carried out. This should form the basis for a detailed evaluation within the mobility concept. According to the resolution of the city council of July 13, 2023, the contents of the aforementioned preliminary study are considered the basis of this tender for the integrated mobility concept of the city of Friedrichsdorf and must be taken into account in the design of the offer.
The overarching objective is the decision of the city council on climate neutrality: "Friedrichdorf is to become climate-neutral in the areas of electricity, heat and mobility by 2035". The integrated mobility concept for the city of Friedrichsdorf must provide an orientation framework for mobility development over the next 15 years (time horizon 2035 plus). The mobility concept takes into account all modes of transport. The minimum content and fields of action are local public transport, walking, cycling, motorised individual transport (MIV - flowing and stationary), commercial transport, networked mobility, mobility management and communication.
The creation of the mobility concept requires a thorough analysis of the current and future performance of the transport system in the functional urban area. A comprehensive assessment of the current situation must be carried out and parameters of the initial situation must be used against which future progress can be measured. Based on this, a long-term and consensual mission statement with ambitious but realistic target values and an implementation concept with concrete, tailor-made proposals for measures for transport and mobility development in the entire urban area is to be developed.
The integrated mobility concept is intended to represent a holistic mobility plan with development goals and measures for the entire city of Friedrichsdorf - as well as for each individual district. Against the background of the integrated urban development concept "Lebendige Zentren Friedrichsdorf", the development area in the core city defined therein is to be examined in depth as a focal point.
