The aim of the contract is to ensure the contracting authority appropriate, stable, cost efficient and qualitative good operation of the various entities. The various entities consist of welfare canteens, employee canteens, kiosks, cafes, leave centres, personnel restaurants and canteens. In addition the service provider shall offer food for meetings and parties, as well as courses and conferences.

The Norwegian Defence currently has 21 welfare canteens, 9 employee canteens, 3 kiosks, 2 cafes and 2 leave centres located nationwide. The Norwegian Defence's leave centres are like a hotel and shall thus be run by the service provider almost like a hotel.

The Ministry of Defence currently has 2 personnel restaurants and 2 premises that are called Fanehallen and Artilleriloftet. These premises can be used for courses and conferences with or without catering. The premises can also be used for large parties. The Ministry of Defence's personnel restaurants are located in Oslo. Fanehallen and Artilleriloftet are located at Akershus fortress (building 65).

The Norwegian Defence Estates Agency currently has 1 canteen located in Harstad, but engineering design services are being carried out for a further canteen in Oslo, which is estimated to open in 2016.

The service provider is responsible for running all the entities.
