At the end of 2018, RAG Aktiengesellschaft (RAG) ended the extraction, refining and sale of hard coal. With the processing of the so-called perpetual tasks and the finite tasks, RAG remains responsible in the mining regions. The perpetual tasks are the processing of mining consequences that require technical and logistical measures for an indefinite period of time. This also includes mine dewatering. Submersible pumps suspended from a slope pipeline are lowered from above ground to the water-bearing level by means of cladding pipes and the mine water level is regulated. Special signal cables are required to control these pumps.
RAG Aktiengesellschaft (RAG) ended the extraction, refinement and distribution of hard coal at the end of 2018. RAG remains responsible in processing so-called eternity tasks and finite tasks in mining regions. The eternity tasks are the processing of mining operations that require technical and logistical measures for the unforeseeable future. These include mine water preservation, polder measures over days, groundwater purification at some former coke plant sites and groundwater monitoring at contaminated sites.
Mine dewatering is of particular importance to RAG. To this end, RAG has developed dewatering concepts for its mining regions in the Ruhr and Saar regions. In the course of the implementation of these dewatering concepts, several shafts will be converted into well operations. Sheathing tubes are used to enable a pump train to be let in or pulled at pump level. Through the cladding pipes, the submersible pumps suspended from a slope pipe (perpendicular delivery pipes for mine water) are lowered from above ground to the water-bearing level and the mine water level is regulated. Special signal cables are required to control these pumps.
