The Port Authority wishes to develop a new food processing factory on Goat Island. The project is to provide a new factory plan shape to be rationalised, with offices, canteen and staff facilities on an upper floor, with the likely result that approximately one quarter of the building will be on 2 levels. The factory is to be completed to a shell standard including services i.e. toilets, hygienic wall linings etc. Procurement and install of food processing equipment to be done by tenant. Externally an increase over the current provision for delivery / parking / turning space for articulated lorries will be required.
Construction work includes demolition of the existing facility and re-surfaced footpath.
Funding has been approved and Port Authority is seeking an Architect-led design team to develop the design to concept proposals (RIBA Stage 2). Subject to internal approvals and securing funding, the team will continue to complete the project.
The anticipated procurement route for the construction is a single stage traditional contract.
Please note that the Port Authority will be appointing their own Project Manager to manage their part of the works.
