Reason and nature of the assignment
Around 1986 LVNL implemented a simple AFTN (Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunications Network) terminal, called ADAS (Aeronautical Data Access System). The main functionality of ADAS is to receive and send AFTN messages in ICAO and ADEXP format. The format of the messages is validated before transmitting these to other AFTN nodes. Preparing correct AFTN messages is supported by providing dialogues to the users.
Today, the system is outdated and will need to be rewritten and re-hosted. This tender is published in order to contract a supplier to deliver new AFTN terminals and perform the necessary work required to rewrite and re-host the software.
