In order to cope with the challenges of a changing energy supply system - with a share of renewable energies of 65% in 2030 - it is necessary to sensibly supplement the mandatory network expansion through the use of innovations. The increased utilization of the existing network plays a particularly important role.

The operating concept of the grid boosters (based on a battery system) provides for a higher utilization of the grid in trouble-free operation. If a previously defined limit value is exceeded during a line in the monitoring area of the grid boosters, the utilization of the affected circuit is reduced to permanently permissible values within a short time with the help of a reactive use of the grid boosters.

Fast response times are intended to create important time reserves for redundant fallback concepts of the system automatic.

Since the transmission system operators are not allowed to own and operate battery plants, the already concluded "Contract for the turnkey construction of the battery energy storage system (BESS) as part of the grid booster and battery energy storage system (BESS)" must be handed over to an investor. This tender serves the search for an investor.

Companies wishing to participate in the competition are requested to notify their willingness to participate by 30.04.2023 via the above contact details. An NDA is then sent to the companies. After submission of a signed NDA, the complete tender for the planned project is then sent to the companies.

On the basis of this contract notice, all interested parties are invited to submit a request to participate.

No tenders are to be submitted at this first stage of the award procedure. The (selected) applicants will only be asked to do so after the conclusion of the participation competition. In the second phase of the award procedure, the contracting authority reserves the right to award one of the initial tenders. For the second phase of the award procedure, suitable companies qualify if they meet the minimum requirements regulated in Section III of this announcement and have submitted a formally complete application for participation in due time and form in accordance with the provisions of the GWB and the SektVO, which are not excluded. They will be invited to submit an offer. The client reserves the right to request additional documents.
