The Weser Bridge is located on the free stretch of the L 770 in the town of Petershagen and connects the two districts of Petershagen in the west and Lahde in the east.
The bridge has a length of about 320 m with 8 spans, it was built in 1969, BW-No.: 3619 522.
In the course of the construction project, a thorough repair and reinforcement of the entire structure will be carried out, the work will extend over a period of approx. 3 years.
Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2024 and end in December 2026.
Traffic impairments, due to construction work on the superstructure, will occur in a period of approx. 1.5 years, whereby traffic will be guided for approx. 1 year in two lanes, with narrowed lanes, and approx. 6 months in one lane, with construction site traffic lights.
The work on the superstructure will basically be carried out in two identical construction phases, starting with the southern half of the superstructure, followed by the northern, construction time of approx. 9 months per construction phase, of which 6 months will be 2-lane and 3 months 1-lane traffic routing.
Some of the work on the substructures will be carried out in parallel.
The construction project is located in a sensitive area of the Weser floodplains, with a landscape conservation area, nature reserve and bird sanctuary in some areas and corresponding requirements during the construction period.
The following major repair and reinforcement measures will be carried out:
- Break off approx. 400 m3 caps
- Produce approx. 460 m3 caps in lightweight concrete
- Approx. 740 m of railings and guards to be replaced
- Approx. 3,600 m2 of waterproofing and covering on superstructure
- Accommodate approx. 1,600 m2 of waterproofing under caps
- Construct approx. 3,100 m2 of waterproofing and covering on superstructure
- Produce approx. 2,100 m2 of waterproofing under caps
- approx. 25 m3 of concrete reinforcement on superstructure cantilever arms and abutments
- Replace approx. 38 m of the roadway transition structure
- Replace approx. 16 bearings
- Install approx. 5.0 t prestressing steel for external superstructure prestressing
- Install approx. 56 pcs of prestressing steel in the box girder base plate
- Install approx. 3.2 t structural steel in box girder base plate
- make approx. 675 m of pipeline from cast iron,
- Replace approx. 37 pcs of drains
- Approx. 340 m of abutment back-anchoring from grouting anchors
- Replace approx. 130 m2 of bird entry protection on pillars and abutments
- approx. 750 m2 concrete repair on superstructure and substructures
- Produce approx. 11,000 m2 of OS-C coating on superstructure and substructures
- Create approx. 15 m embankment stairs
- Construct and backfill approx. 2,000 m3 excavation pit for abutment and pier foundations
- 1 psch Provision of working scaffolding, protective scaffolding, shoring and working platforms
- Construct approx. 51 m trough-trench element with bedload shaft
- approx. 4,500 m3 of widening road embankment
- Approx. 480 m of cycle path in road embankment
