Hydro Power Plant Tannuwald, Retrofit, Lot 13 Cables
The existing hydroelectric power plant Tannuwald has been commissioned in 1981 with an installed power output of 5 194 kW. The power plant is located at 1 391 m a.s.l. in the canton of Valais (Switzerland). The Fah reservoir (41 000 m3), which is located about 2 790 m upstream the power plant, collects the water at an elevation of 1 758 m.a.s.l. After flowing through the penstock, the water is turbined in seven pumps operating as turbines. In the frame of the retrofit project Tannuwald, the seven units will be replaced by 2 identical vertical Pelton groups. The existing 16-kV-cable connection from the Tannuwald power plant to the Sera substation will be replaced by a new one. Between the power plant and the Fah reservoir, a new 16-kV-cable connection is created along the penstock. A new cable connection will be made for the 400-V supply to Alp Cheller from the Fah reservoir.
