2.3.2015 Norway and the Netherlands signed an agreement on leasing of prison places in the Netherlands for persons convicted in Norway. The agreement involves 242 prison places in Norgerhaven prison in the Netherlands.

In connection with discharges, leaves or due to other reasons, Kriminalomsorgen will require regular air transports where the convicted shall be returned to Norway, and transporting the convicted to imprisonment in the Netherlands.

At present, Kriminalomsorgen is uncertain of the frequency of these transports, but it is expected that the requirement for these types of flights will be every second week with capacity for approx. 35 persons.

It may also be relevant with larger aircrafts which can take approx. 70 persons.
