Improvements to the infrastructure of the historic South Hall and the 1912 Lecture Hall, attending to damp walls, failing guttering and poor decoration, improving and replacing mechanical and electrical services so that environmental controls and gallery lighting are more effective and energy efficient.

Re-introduction of daylight into the South Hall without detrimental impact on the sensitive objects on display.

Improvements to the threshold to the South Hall, introducing a new entrance from Gallery Square and concealing back of house areas.
