Description:
Disclosure Deilbach - Lot 2

Disclosure of the Deilbach in the area of Essen-Kupferdreh - engineering structures.

The structure to be constructed is an artificially created, natural flowing water. Most of it runs between or under the elevations of the DB route and the A44 motorway. The near-natural design is based on the one hand on the river-specific model of the Deilbach or the Ruhr, on the other hand according to the disclosure of the Deilbach already carried out in the first construction phase. At the southern end of the construction project (= upper expansion limit), there is a connection to the existing Deilbach and thus its enclosure from the existing Verdolung. At the northern end of the construction project (= lower expansion limit), there is a connection to the water section realized in the first construction phase.

Large parts of the water bed are sealed against the existing and correspondingly excavated subsoil with geosynthetic clay sealing sheets (GTD). A layer of a sole substrate mixture is applied to the GTD and modeled. The bed substrate mix consists of Ruhr gravel (only this is provided by the client), armourstones, gravel and sand. Sections of the embankments and the base exposed to increased flow attack are made of cast armourstones. The waterway development will be carried out in construction lots 2 and 3.

Due to the local conditions and the inner-city location, the new stretch of water to be created will be separated from the adjacent areas alternately by troughs, retaining walls or an embankment, resulting in a rigid alignment of the water axis. In connection with the creation of the water body and its above-mentioned boundary structures, a section of canal to relieve a rain overflow basin (RÜB) into the water body and the creation of a pedestrian bridge as a crossing option over the new water body are also being created (construction lot 2).

The supporting walls made of reinforced concrete with natural stone cladding in irregular stratification serve on the one hand to limit the side of the water. On the other hand, they take over the support of the adjacent buildings and areas. The retaining walls will be founded on both existing and newly constructed reinforced concrete bored piles. The entire clear distance between the opposite supporting walls serves as a water bed. Both the walls of the trough structures and the retaining walls have a reinforced concrete head plate as the upper end. The top plates are at the same height as the adjacent outdoor facilities, the construction of which, with the exception of 2 wing walls on the newly emerging step system, is not part of the construction work advertised here.

The pre-stressed concrete pedestrian bridge runs between the two banks in the area of the water boundary on both sides with retaining walls. The pedestrian bridge is only used by pedestrians and cyclists as a means of crossing the water. The relief channel section of the RÜB is used to temporarily discharge mixed water (precipitation and sewage) into the new water section. The sewer will be connected to an existing sewer in a new, combined deflection and fall structure (prefabricated component). An existing diversion / transfer shaft must be completely demolished. At the discharge point, the sewer is provided with an outlet structure with closing flaps and outlet grille. Both measures will be carried out in section 2.
