Hafslund Oslo Celsio AS (Celsio) is Norway's largest district heating supplier and accounts for 36 percent of all district heating generated in Norway. We produce and distribute renewable thermal energy (district heating and cooling) in Stor-Oslo and ensure safe and environmentally friendly final treatment of waste that cannot or should not be reused or recycled. .
Work is being carried out on large development projects, and the company intends to establish a full-scale carbon capture and storage (CCS) plant at Klemetsrud. Celsio will be an important contributor to the green revolution and an even more environmentally friendly and sustainable Oslo.
Celsio's energy recovery plant at Klemetsrud accounts for roughly 17% of Oslo's CO2 emissions. The carbon capture plant is one of the most important measures for reducing the city's emissions. The plant will be able to capture 400,000 tonnes of CO2 per year, which is equal to the emissions from 200,000 cars.
