Description:
Supply of optical fiber, optical spectrum, line transmission equipment and related housing, maintenance and specialized technical assistance services

Supply of regional terrestrial optical fiber, submarine optical spectrum and transmission optical equipment through which the GARR intends to extend the backbone infrastructure of its network in the regions of Sardinia and Abruzzo by equipping it with open line photonic systems (Open Optical Line System) based on Infinera FlexILS technology, in continuity with the ongoing achievements and with the aim of creating a single photonic and operational domain throughout the national territory.

Extension of the GARR-T network in the region of Sardinia - CIG 96991285A0

For the extension of the fiber network in the region of Sardinia it is required:

a. the granting of the exclusive and irrevocable right of use (IRU), for a period of 20 years, of dark optical fiber for the network backbone in the Sardinia region. The proposed optical fibers must meet the technical and topological requirements indicated in the Technical Tender Specifications;

b. the granting of the exclusive and irrevocable right of use (IRU), for a period of 20 years, of contiguous portions of spectrum equal to 900GHz on submarine optical infrastructure for the interconnection of Sardinia, in particular both to Milan and to Rome, in Dark Spectrum mode on the Open Cable system. Any extensions of terrestrial optical fibre from the submarine infrastructure spectrum access points both in Sardinia and to the GARR PoPs of Rome-Tizii (RM02) and Milan-Caldera (MI02) are also included. In case of complete failure of the interconnection required through dedicated spectrum, it is requested that the proposal provides for a solution that guarantees, for the same duration and with the same acquisition methods, the interconnection of the Sardinia region to the national backbone GARR-T through at least 1x100GEth between the PoPs of CA01 and RM02 and 1x100GEth between the PoPs of SS01 and RM02.

c. the supply of equipment for the realization of an Open Line System (OLS) on the entire terrestrial fiber optic infrastructure related to point "a", for the interconnection to the submarine optical spectrum at point "b", including expansions and fittings on the operational GARR-T nodes. The equipment offered must belong to the Infinera FlexILS platform used in the GARR-T network, to allow the creation of a unitary and homogenous solution at national level and a single photonic domain;

d. the service of specialized technical assistance and maintenance of the optical fiber and the interconnection infrastructure between Sardinia and GARR-T, according to the specifications detailed in the Technical Tender Specifications for a period of 20 consecutive years starting from the date of the test report with a positive outcome.

e. the housing service for the telecommunications equipment that make up the optical platform of the proposed solution within spaces made available by the Fiber Optic Supplier for a period of 20 years, in order to allow the creation of some Points of Presence (PoP). The specifications of the requested housing service are reported in the Technical Tender Specifications;

f. the hardware and software installation service of the equipment in the GARR PoP, including transport, configuration and activation of the network equipment as well as complete wiring and labeling;

g. the design, activation and testing necessary for the activation of the network which also includes the complete design of the solution to be implemented, based on the topology and characteristics of the geographical optical fiber. Design, construction and compliance with delivery terms are the responsibility of the Supplier;

h. the supply of performance control, management and monitoring software, in order to allow the complete management of the identified solution;

i. the supply of stocks necessary for the provision of the maintenance service;

j. the service of specialized technical assistance and maintenance of the equipment and management system, for the duration of 10 consecutive years starting from the date of the test report with positive outcome of the equipment.

Extension of the GARR-T network in the Abruzzo region - CIG 969927923D

For the extension of the fiber network in the Abruzzo region it is required:

I. the granting of the exclusive and irrevocable right of use (IRU), for a period of 20 years, of dark optical fiber for the expansion of the network backbone in the Abruzzo region. The proposed optical fibers must meet the technical and topological requirements indicated in the Technical Tender Specifications;

II. the supply of equipment for the realization of an open line optical system (Open Line System - OLS) on the entire terrestrial fiber optic infrastructure related to point I) including expansions and fittings on the operational GARR-T nodes. The equipment offered must belong to the Infinera FlexILS platform used in the GARR-T network, to allow the creation of a unitary and homogenous solution at national level and a single photonic domain;

III. the service of specialized technical assistance and maintenance of the optical fiber, according to the specifications detailed in Chapter 5 for a period of 20 consecutive years from the date of the positive test report.

IV. the housing service for the telecommunications equipment that make up the optical line platform within spaces made available by the Fiber Optic Supplier for a period of 20 years, in order to allow the creation of some Points of Presence (PoP) for the amplification of transmission signals along the medium and long distance backbone sections. The specifications of the requested housing service are reported in the Technical Tender Specifications;

V. the hardware and software installation service of the equipment in the GARR PoP, including transport, configuration and activation of the network equipment as well as complete wiring and labeling;

VI. the design, activation and testing necessary for the activation of the network, which also includes the complete design of the solution to be implemented, based on the topology and characteristics of the geographical optical fiber. Design, construction and compliance with delivery terms are the responsibility of the Supplier;

VII. the supply of performance control, management and monitoring software, in order to allow the complete management of the identified solution;

VIII. the supply of stocks necessary for the provision of the maintenance service;

IX. the service of specialized technical assistance and maintenance of the equipment and management system, for the duration of 10 consecutive years starting from the date of the test report with positive outcome of the equipment.
