Description:
Introduction of digital medication management software at St. Vincenz Hospital Limburg and St. Vincenz Hospital Diez

Delivery of software for digital medication management with optional later connection of a unit dose automat as well as integration into the existing system landscape and including services

Krankenhausgesellschaft St. Vincenz mbH intends to procure a new medication management software.

The starting situation in the hospitals of the hospital company is as follows:

Our hospitals Limburg and Diez work together via fat client PCs and thin client PCs (Citrix) on our computer systems in redundant data centers in Limburg. As a result, the essential software can be shared and the number of interfaces, configuration and maintenance requirements are kept as low as possible.

Our main software systems are the Orbis KIS, the Orbis RIS, the IMPAX EE-PACS, the HydMedia archive system, the TIP hCe BI system, the Orbis Assisted Coding and the Orbis DRG Workplace for coding support from Dedalus.

In addition, the materials management software Amor3 from Aescudata in our pharmacy, Limbach's H&S LIS in the laboratory, the E&L ClinicWinData in the endoscopy, the CARDDAS from GE Healthcare in the left heart catheter, Epias triage software in the emergency rooms, and the oncology and pharmacy Meona's Zenzy2 cytostatic software in use. The purchase of digital vital parameter measuring carts connected to the HIS is planned for 2022.

By the end of the first quarter of 2023, we will have completely switched both hospitals to Dedalus's digital patient curve and digital care documentation. As part of the KHZG, we are also planning to purchase a patient portal, a PDMS and a unit dose machine that must be integrated by the end of the KHZG period.

At the same time, we have to meet the deadlines and requirements of the telematics infrastructure and use TI connectors from Secunet for us.

Our Orbis HIS is currently using the outdated KURV Medication software with MMI drug data, but which no longer has a functional scope for us and is no longer up-to-date and difficult to maintain. Since personnel costs represent the majority of hospital costs and we have to minimize technical errors and user errors, the new medication software needs to be very well integrated into the existing software landscape, be excellent for hospital and pharmacy users, and very well with the existing ones materials management software and the future unit can machine. We see a smooth workflow with uninterrupted and distraction-free processes as a key to the success of the new software.

Of course, the new software must also meet the requirements for the AMTS, include interaction checks for the warning of adverse drug reactions and significantly increase patient safety through structured electronic regulations (interaction check, readability, mobile electronic patient direct regulation, drug rounds by the pharmacist).

The future medication software is to be integrated into Orbis's digital patient curve and its introduction is planned for the second quarter of 2023.
