Contract 2 comprises construction of four steel beam/box girder bridges between Grytøy and Sandsøy. This includes fabrication and assembly of four bridge structures on sea filling including associated piling and concrete works.

Tjeldevik bridge, Dyna bridge and Hjellnes bridge (bridge 1, 2 and 4) are minor bridges built as steal beam bridges with associated concrete slab. The bridges are respectively 44, 66 and 66 metres long arranged in 3 axes. Land abutments shall be built in concrete with cantilevered wings on the superstructure. The abutments are founded on driven steel piles through sea filling and down in the original materials to rock. The pillars in axle 2 for each bridge stand freely in the water where some of the concrete structure is somewhat below the water line, while there are tubular steel piles from the concrete structure to rock. There is little or no uncompacted material over rock and tubular steel piles and concrete piles are not stable before the superstructure is erected.

Sandsøysund bridge (bridge 3, filling 5 and 6) shall be built as a steel with associated cover over 3 spas (90 m + 115 m + 90 m) and has a total length of 305 m. The steel box has variable height and sloping sides. It is executed with internal bracing both along and across the bridge. The land abutments are cantilevered wings. The land abutments are founded on driven steel piles through sea filling and down in the original mass to rock. The pillars in axle 2 and 3 stand freely in the water with the concrete structure partially submerged. The steel piles stand on rock without uncompacted material, or with very little uncompacted material. The piles and foundations are not stable before the concrete foundations are hardened. The pile area in filling 5 and 6 are prepared and levelled with sloping inclination.

The progress shall be coordinated with contract 1, and contract 2 (this contract) shall participate in the coordination.

The project shall be carried out based on drawings.
