Spinelli School - LV20 carpenter furniture fixtures and interior window sills
The city of Mannheim has commissioned its subsidiary BBS Bau- und Betriebsservice GmbH with the construction of a two-tier primary school with full-day care and canteen in the newly emerging Spinelli district. The city assumes a total of around 250 students.
The building plot is located in the northeastern area of the Mannheim district. The property is part of a newly designated construction site, which borders: north and west on Dürkheimer Straße with adjoining residential development. The plot represents a flat area overgrown with grass.
The two-storey new building with partial basement will be built in solid construction in the basement and the floor slab of the ground floor, as well as in the stairwells, the elevator shaft and the sanitary cores. The remaining building elements of the ground floor and upper floor are made of wood hybrid construction. Load-bearing wooden columns and wooden panel walls in combination with a wood-concrete composite ceiling.
In front of it, around the building, is the escape balcony in timber construction on massive single and strip foundations. The façade is a ventilated wooden planking made of larch. The main entrance to the building is oriented to the west. The schoolyard adjoins the building to the south.
The compact, rectangular structure measures a total of approx. 50 metres in east-west direction and approx. 30 metres in north-south direction (including escape balcony). The height of the building is 8.25m above ±0.03 OKFF ground floor. The gross floor area of the new building is 3,175m² and the gross volume is 11,713m³.
The technical equipment of the building includes a ventilation system with cooling registers, a photovoltaic system on the roof, a passenger lift and a treatment kitchen with canteen.
Interior finishing is carried out in drywall with generous planking and fixtures made of wood.
The entrance and exit to the building site is from the northwest via Dürkheimer Straße, at the corner of the Joseph-Bauer-Haus, to the construction site.
