moBiel GmbH is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Stadtwerke Bielefeld GmbH and has been commissioned by the City of Bielefeld as the public transport authority to provide public transport in Bielefeld. As part of this, moBiel GmbH operates all light rail vehicles and a large part of the buses used for public transport in Bielefeld and the surrounding area. In order to support the provision of bus transport services in the greater Bielefeld area, moBiel GmbH subcontracts part of the services under this contract to third parties.

These services will be divided into 4 lots. These are clustered according to the cardinal points north, south, west and east. Some lines extend beyond sector boundaries. In each lot there are solo bus, articulated bus and school-related emergency vehicle services. Night bus services are also included to a not inconsiderable extent.

The services are allocated to the contractors on the basis of course cards. An initial overview is provided by the published table with driving data, the course maps will be made available at the latest with the invitation to submit an offer.

During the term of the contract, the client has the right to make additions, cancellations and changes to the timetable.

The contract starts in July 2025.

Most of the lines to be awarded in Lot 1 are located in the north of Bielefeld. In total, the lot covers around 14,687 kilometers per week and 32,615 trips per week. On average, one orbit has 121 kilometers, the shortest orbit 10 kilometers, the longest orbit 360 kilometers.

Early and late services are included, as well as night bus services from Friday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday as well as on public holidays. Lot 1 comprises the provision of articulated and solo buses for the operation of regular services with its own personnel by the contractor. According to our own estimates, the scope of services corresponds to approx. 17 buses (12 solo buses [SL], 5 articulated buses [SG]).

The contractor must use 4 buses of the total number of buses required for this lot as emission-free vehicles (i.e. emission-free in accordance with the European Directive (EU) 2019/1161 "Clean Vehicles Directive" (CVD) and the Clean Vehicles Procurement Act (SaubFahrzeugBeschG)). All other necessary vehicles must meet at least the Euro 6 standard.

Most of the lines to be awarded in Lot 2 are located in the south of Bielefeld. In total, the lot covers around 14,005 kilometers per week and 33,773 trips per week. On average, one orbit has 109 kilometers, the shortest orbit 6 kilometers, the longest orbit 292 kilometers.

Early and late services are included, as well as night bus services from Friday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday as well as on public holidays. Lot 2 includes the provision of articulated and solo buses for the operation of regular services with its own personnel by the contractor. According to our own estimates, the scope of services corresponds to approx. 16 buses (13 solo buses [SL], 3 articulated buses [SG]).

The contractor must use 4 buses of the total number of buses required for this lot as emission-free vehicles (i.e. emission-free in accordance with the European Directive (EU) 2019/1161 "Clean Vehicles Directive" (CVD) and the Clean Vehicles Procurement Act (SaubFahrzeugBeschG)). All other necessary vehicles must meet at least the Euro 6 standard.

Most of the lines to be awarded in Lot 3 are located in the east of Bielefeld. In total, the lot covers around 16,139 kilometers per week and 39,498 drives per week. On average, one orbit has 134 kilometers, the shortest orbit 18 kilometers, the longest orbit 402 kilometers.

Early and late services are included, as well as night bus services from Friday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday as well as on public holidays. Lot 3 comprises the provision of articulated and solo buses for the execution of regular services with its own personnel by the contractor. According to our own estimates, the scope of services corresponds to approx. 17 buses (14 solo buses [SL], 3 articulated buses [SG]).

The contractor must use 4 buses of the total number of buses required for this lot as emission-free vehicles (i.e. emission-free in accordance with the European Directive (EU) 2019/1161 "Clean Vehicles Directive" (CVD) and the Clean Vehicles Procurement Act (SaubFahrzeugBeschG)). All other necessary vehicles must meet at least the Euro 6 standard.
