The contract concerns the works, services and supplies of equipment related to the construction of the University museums: Zoology and Mineralogy and Petrography, called "PREPARATION OF MUSEUM SECTIONS OF ZOOLOGY AND MINERALOGY AND PETROGRAPHY"

The unifying element and the main objective of the Museum System Project of the University of Calabria is to guarantee an innovative and integrated university museum teaching. It will be part of the various courses of study at all levels (three-year degree, specialist and doctorate) where the various museum sections will work to expand the educational offer. The completion of the museum sections of Zoology and Mineralogy-Petrography, operating in different scientific-disciplinary sectors, will require the development of autonomous projects, even if closely coordinated with each other. In particular, the single project involves the creation of a new didactic-exhibition path (full of new dioramas, showcases, finds, etc.).

The completion of the museum sections of Zoology and Mineralogy-Petrography, operating in different scientific-disciplinary sectors, will require the development of autonomous projects, even if closely coordinated with each other. In particular, the single project involves the creation of a new didactic-exhibition path (full of new dioramas, showcases, finds, etc.), within which the instruments / equipment acquired with the previous financing are integrated. The result is a new exhibition itinerary that offers users immersive and engaging visits: the deepening of the issues addressed will be carried out during the laboratory activities, using new technologies previously. The installations designed for the two museological sections are united 1) by the strong reference to the Calabrian territory, realized with the introduction in the exhibition of representations and references to the different naturalistic aspects of the region and 2) by the purpose for which they are designed: to spread the knowledge of the naturalistic aspects that characterize and, in some cases, make Calabria unique on the national scene. Knowledge is in fact the first step of a path towards the development of critical and proactive thinking on the behaviors to be adopted towards the environment. The realization of these two new museum installations will expand the attractiveness of SiMU making it even more a cultural reference point of great value for the University and for the entire Calabria Region. Taking into account that the main users of the SiMU museums are the students of the

schools of all levels, the realization of the two projects has as its ultimate goal: 1) the promotion of knowledge of naturalistic themes, and not, that touch the Calabrian territory; 2) raise awareness of the importance of protecting the great natural heritage; 3) stimulate the adoption of good practices in favor of the conservation of the cultural heritage that surrounds us.
