NHS Vale of York CCG is seeking to commission a Medical Non-Emergency Transport Service for its population and on behalf of NHS Scarborough and Ryedale CCG through a restricted procurement process. It is anticipated that the new service will be in place by 1.4.2018.

NHS Vale of York CCG are conducting this procurement on behalf of itself and NHS Scarborough and Ryedale CCG. There may potentially be other Contracting Authorities within the region that wish to join this procurement exercise in the future. This will be confirmed at ITT stage.

The overarching aim of this service is to provide a Medical Non-Emergency Transport service that will deliver for the GP registered patient population of NHS Scarborough and Ryedale CCG and NHS Vale of York CCG, and will meet the needs of both patients and local providers within the available resource. It will make a link between Primary and Secondary care services, support up to date ways of working, understand how both long distance and short distance journeys can be effectively made, work with the voluntary sector, and improve the overall quality of the service for all users.

The service will be easily accessible to all users, be able to manage all requirements in a timely way, have an appropriate and, where necessary, skilled workforce, and be able to report against all agreed qualitative and quantitative standards. Patient and other stakeholder needs will be considered and the service will need to be able to flex and change with the requirements of partners over time.
