In the municipality of Edam-Volendam, the collection contract for the collection of organic waste and residual waste (including PMD), Opk, glass, bulky household waste (including the collection of wood, iron and WEEE) and HDO waste expires at the end of March 2023. For a new contract for the collection of these waste streams, with the exception of PMD, the municipality wants to conclude a new agreement. The PMD is not collected separately at source, but separated by HVC from the residual waste. Given the size of the contract, a European tendering process must be completed.
