The KVB operates an itcs (on-board computer and control center) of the company Trapeze Switzerland GmbH.
The current passenger information is provided by a background system of the former company BBR Verkehrstechnik
GmbH, now Stadler Rail AG.
As part of the Passenger Information Strategy, various measures have been defined for implementation, which
contribute to the modernization and improvement of the current itcs/FGI system and ensure future viability
of systems for further expansion.
In addition to the modernization of the central itcs/FGI architecture, the part of the FGI indicators is also to be renewed
that no longer meets today's technical and functional requirements.
In recent years, all FGI displays on the KVB light rail stations have already been renewed
, the large-area displays (GFA), steles and indoor displays in the sales centres are now also to be installed
to be renewed.
For the renewal of the GFA and Sonderanzeiger-Anzeiger in the entire city of Cologne, two lots will be awarded.

The delivery and installation of the displays will be carried out in a time-limited project process, which results from specified milestones of approved federal funding measures.
For funding reasons, the delivery and installation of the notifications from Lot 1 and Lot 2 must be completed and fully invoiced by 31.12.2025 by a successful overall acceptance.
