The Quality Assurance for Building Act (Wkb) is expected to enter into force on 1 July 2023. The law introduces a system of quality assurance that aims to improve the quality of construction and strengthen the position of the client. Construction works in consequence class (GK) 1 will start. This includes ground-based homes and simple buildings with an industrial function. Three years after the entry into force of GK1, renewed decision-making takes place on the introduction of the system for the other construction works (GK2 and GK3). These consequence classes relate respectively to more complex buildings (GK2) and buildings intended for the residence of a larger number of people (GK3). In order to gain insight into the functioning of the system as a whole and to the extent to which the goals of the Wkb are achieved in practice, the system is evaluated three years after its entry into force.
