Q/K2BD/R8834 - Development and production of a reconnaissance vehicle
The object of the contract is the main mobility and functional carrier of vehicle-based reconnaissance. As an armoured, wheel-based vehicle, the Next Generation Reconnaissance Vehicle (SpähFz NG) is intended to ensure the survivability of the Army Reconnaissance Force in the Area of Intellligence Responsibility through high tactical mobility (including buoyancy), comprehensive equipment with communication/information systems and navigation means as well as means of assertiveness and endurance.
The SpähFz NG is intended to easily replace the 4-wheel FENNEK (SpähWg FENNEK) reconnaissance vehicle currently in use, which will reach the end of its service life by the end of 2028. To ensure that this can be done in a timely manner, it is intended to be implemented via COTS/MOTS products. Adjustments to individual components are only planned to the extent necessary for integration into the overall system. The first two vehicles for investigation purposes are scheduled to arrive in 2026 and a further 90 vehicles are to be distributed over the years 2027 and 2028 (firm contract).
The vehicle is to be equipped with D-LBO and a weapon system with a 25 mm autocannon and smoke grenade launcher.
In the field of logistics, a comprehensive qualification of military and civilian maintenance forces by the contractor is due. Irrespective of this, the potential contractor must ensure that the vehicle can be supplied and repaired for 20 years after delivery of the last vehicle. In order to ensure the rapid achievement of a full supply and thus operational readiness, a wide variety of ILS measures are planned, including the implementation of a logistical support analysis. This service is also owed by the Contractor.
