The target of the procurement is the Vehkala branch of Varian Vocational School, which will be implemented as a project management contract with target and ceiling prices. Construction is scheduled to begin no later than February 2023.

The subject of the procurement is described in more detail in the tender documents.

The Vehkala branch of Vantaa Vocational College Varia, which is the subject of the contract, will be built in Vantaa at Vehkalantie 6.

The building to be implemented is mainly a 3-storey and partly 4-storey vocational school, with 1-storey high-rise halls on the courtyard side. The building houses 2,130 students and approximately 225 staff, for a total of about 2,355 people. The scope of the new building is approximately 24,250 m2. The plot area of the school building is about 56,000 m2.

Teaching facilities will be built at the Vehkala office for students in the fields of social and health care, electrical and automation, information and communication technology, automotive, aircraft and logistics. The courtyard area will be built as a single, flat field, which will be mainly asphalt, and will be used for teaching activities in the automotive, aircraft and logistics sectors as a driving training and parking area for heavy traffic, machinery and aircraft. Indoors, there will be a gymnasium and gym with changing and washing facilities, as well as outdoor exercise equipment and a game arena in the front yard. The lobby areas will be connected to a cafeteria, dining room and kitchen. The school's preparation kitchen also serves as Vantaa's preparedness and regional kitchen, where about 3000 portions of food are prepared daily.

Most of the parking spaces on the plot will be located in the area outside the plot on the west side of Vehkalantie. 406 parking spaces and 214 moped spaces will be located in the area. 100 of the parking spaces will be implemented as thermal parking spaces according to electricity plans. The area will be mainly asphalt-covered. The parking area covers an area of approximately 20,000 m2. The parking area is also part of the same construction contract.
