In the course of the planning approval procedure for the Danube expansion Straubing - Vilshofen, section 2: Deggendorf - Vilshofen, permanent and temporary production-integrated compensation measures (PIK) were set in the accompanying landscape conservation plan on changing areas to compensate for the impairments of the open-land bird species lapwing and skylark.

The implementation of the necessary PIK measures will be ensured by a suitable institution within the meaning of the Bavarian Compensation Ordinance § 9 para. 5 sentence 1 in the management years 2024/2025 to 2028/2029.

As part of this work, public/information events, acquisition of contract farmers, conclusion of contracts, implementation controls, photo documentation, notification to the organic land cadastre and documentation of the overall performance are to be carried out.
