Through this European tender, TU/e expects to contract one supplier who can supply Network Components within this framework agreement for the benefit of the Client's business operations. The Client largely relies on deliveries in which in a limited number of cases (if the Contractor chooses to do so) the installation can also be done by the Client.
Tu/e's network platform provides a Layer-3 LAN network backbone, wired and wireless network access to users, server access in a commercial data center, and network security (firewalls, VPN, etc.). Buildings, the data center and satellite locations are linked on the basis of LAN protocols (fiber, ethernet and IP) without the intervention of MPLS, S2S VPN, SD-WAN etc. Internet connectivity is provided by SURF (BGP); Microsoft Azure Connectivity is based on Ethernet links and Azure ExpressRoute with BGP, also via SURF. The network is partly zoned with firewalls.

In addition to these 3 vendors, it should also be possible to order network equipment from other vendors if there is a need for this.
