The purpose of the public contract is to:
• Update existing carbon footprints;
• Create carbon footprints;
• Train managers (data collectors);
• Compile the Carbon Footprints in order to have a sectoral representation.
The purpose is on the one hand to carry out individual carbon assessments for each potential member and on the other hand to carry out a sectoral carbon assessment, i.e. an addition/consolidation of the carbon assessments of the actors in the water sector, without including the sector of activity of the demerger.
All carbon footprints are carried out in scope 1-2-3 according to the methodology described in § "MARKET DESCRIPTION".
The water sector in the Walloon Region is divided into 3 activities: the production of drinking water, the distribution of drinking water, wastewater treatment. As part of this contract, an additional industrial sector, in addition to the three sectors mentioned, will have to be studied: emergence.
Water stakeholders (wastewater or other) are sometimes active in several sectors of economic activity (waste sector, economic expansion sector, energy production, water production, water distribution, submergment, wastewater treatment, etc.). A segmentation of results between activities is necessary. A description of potential members, including their sectors of activity, is attached (Appendix A – description of potential members).
