The assignment relates to services for the realization of traffic infrastructure.
through (mainly) public-private cooperation (DBFM contracts). The private partner stands
this is responsible for the realization and the provision of the infrastructure for 30 years.
The assignment includes, among other things, the service provision for (i) a program for replacing
about 40 bridges through new works of art, and (ii) a project for the refurbishment of the knot
Mechelen — North.
The first project is about the renewal of about 40 bridges with an estimated construction cost.
of 300 million Euro. The bridges are in poor condition and priority need to be replaced. They lie
spread across Flanders and two managers: AWV and DVW. The goal is to create the artworks
replace by 2030 with one or two DBFM projects.
The second project concerns the optimization of the Mechelen-Noord node with an estimated
construction cost of 300 million Euro. The capacity of the Mechelen-Noord node should be increased
to improve the settlement quality of the E19 with its entrances and exits, the N16, the R6 and the
Mechelen-Noord business park. An additional western bearing
traffic structure between the buttons Mechelen-Noord and Mechelen—South should be the western Vests
relieve the burden and carry urban developments in the coastal region of Mechelen.
This framework agreement has a duration of 3 years.
The duration of the framework agreement is tacitly extended by a period of 1 year. The
full term (incl. renewals) is limited to 9 years.
The contracting authority has the right not to renew the contract without any form of
compensation. The non-extension will be communicated to the contractor at least 2 months before the expiry of the term.
