NEW Devon are looking to procure the following under one contract
The OHT and suspect COAG monitoring service available and to be provided to all persons who are identified as meeting the acceptance criteria, and are registered with a GP Practice in the Western Locality of NEW Devon CCG.
The key outcomes that the service will deliver are:
— A safe, convenient and accessible service to patients.
— A quality service reflected by excellent results from patient feedback.
— A choice of Provider and appointment dates/times for patients.
The Intra-Ocular Pressure Referral Refinement service is available and to be provided to all persons who are identified as meeting the acceptance criteria, and are registered with a NEW Devon CCG GP Practice.

The NHS Northern Eastern and Western Devon Clinical Commissioning Group (NEW Devon CCG) covers three geographical localities (Northern, Eastern and Western). There will be 2 services in this opportunity to be covered under 1 contract; Glaucoma services for the Western locality only and an Intra-Ocular Pressure Referral Refinement service the covers the whole CCG footprint.
Glaucoma Services.
The OHT and suspect COAG monitoring service available and to be provided to all persons who are identified as meeting the acceptance criteria, and are registered with a GP Practice in the Western Locality of NEW Devon CCG. . The locality is based around Plymouth, Tavistock and South Hams and consists of 42 practices covering a population of 260 000 people.
Chronic open angle glaucoma (COAG) is a common and potentially blinding condition. It is usually asymptomatic until advanced and many people will be unaware there is a problem with their eyes until severe visual damage has occurred. Ocular hypertension (OHT) is a major risk factor for developing COAG, although COAG can occur with or without raised eye pressure.
The key outcomes that the service will deliver are:
— A safe, convenient and accessible service to patients;
— A quality service reflected by excellent results from patient feedback;
— A choice of Provider and appointment dates/times for patients.
Intra-Ocular Pressure Referral Refinement service.
The Intra-Ocular Pressure Referral Refinement service available and to be provided to all persons who are identified as meeting the acceptance criteria, and are registered with a NEW Devon CCG GP Practice.
The key outcomes that the service will deliver are:
— A safe, convenient and accessible service to patients.
— A quality service reflected by excellent results from patient feedback.
