Description:
Qualitative research is needed to explore the culture, identity, needs, and service interactions of Roma people in England and Wales, involving peer researchers from the community to conduct interviews and focus groups.
Provision of Research into the Lived Experiences of Roma People. The Contracting Authority are seeking a Supplier to conduct qualitative research to understand the lived experiences of Roma people in England and Wales, exploring culture, identity, needs and interactions with services. The Supplier will work with Civil Society Organisations in 3-4 locations in England and 1-2 in Wales to recruit peer researchers and research participants, ensuring their safety and welfare. The peer researchers will be Roma community members who will conduct in-depth interviews with approximately 60 Roma participants aged 14 and above using creative methods, and 4-6 focus groups. They will be required to attend an ONS workshop exploring these techniques in the context of our research. The Supplier will be responsible for co-ordination of data collection and the delivery of translated and quality assured interview and focus group transcripts, ensuring regular communication with the ONS and adherence to data protection requirements and research ethics guidance.
