Invitation for tenders to collect, treat, and process municipal waste into RDF/SRF fuel to divert from landfill, with options to extend contracts, for Fermanagh and Omagh District Council.
TENDER FOR THE COLLECTION AND TREATMENT OF RESIDUAL WASTE 2425 TNDR EP 003. Fermanagh and Omagh District Council invite tenders for the collection, treatment and RDF/SRF processing of municipal waste for a period of 6 Months from Commencement of Contracts (Approximately September/October 2024) for each of Two Lots, with options, entirely at the discretion of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, to extend the Contracts for each lot for a further period of 6 months or Part Thereof. The contract materials will consist of residual waste arising from the Council kerbside refuse collection service and recycling centre residual waste. The successful contractor will process the contract material by the removal/recovery of any recyclable material and processing of residues into RDF/SRF fuel. The aim of the contract services will be to divert residual wastes from landfill to assist the Council in meeting its landfill diversion targets. Material will be collected at Gortrush transfer station and Drummee Transfer Station as stated in the lots in bulk trailer or similar system. The Council will arrange for the loading of the successful contractor’s vehicle. The treatment of this waste is to ensure that the Client meets its obligations Under Domestic and European legislation including the Landfill Allowance Scheme (Northern Ireland) Regulations 2004. Processes such as mechanical biological treatment, anaerobic digestion and the production of Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) or Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) for energy recovery at an R1 rated facility are acceptable technologies for the treatment of the Client’s waste. LOT 1 - Municipal Wastes including Separately Collected Fractions.
