The Research management systems DPS is being established by JSL to support procurement of current research information systems (CRISs) and repositories. It will consist of two lots;
• Lot 1: CRISs
• Lot 2: Repositories
The Current research information systems (CRISs) will collect and store information about an institution’s research activity. They will contain information that is entered directly into the CRIS as well as importing information from other institutional systems, with the aim of providing a single institutional view of the research activity. The other institutional systems might include HR systems, finance systems, grant management systems, institutional and data repositories and student systems. Much of this information will be for internal use only but some may be made public via a repository or web portal.
The repositories will enable the deposit, publishing, sharing, discovery, access and citation of research outputs with differing file formats and sizes. Examples of outputs include journal articles, theses and research data.
The repositories will contain both public (open) and restricted (closed) outputs and outputs that are under embargo to a certain date. They will hold information about authors and contributors and their projects for example author name, department, projects, publications, contact details, collaborators. This information will be made public by the repository.
